Picture Update

I think it is amazing that we have uploaded over 750 pics and we have still only barely scratched the surface. We have only done about 15% of the cards!! It sure feels like we have done a lot more than that.

We just need to keep it up. We will get there.

freddie 11-12-2006 04:18 AM

Take a look at 1990, I've been working on it. I like to have scans of card backs as well as the front.

Gonzaleznut 11-12-2006 10:24 PM

Good job.

freddie 11-14-2006 03:43 PM

I'll try to get going on 91 today.

This is, by far, the most useful picture on this list.

http://juangonzalez.vintagegaming.or...hp?cardid=4434

Jonas can you upload pictures of these three cards:

1991 O-Pee-Chee Premier (Black Only Text on Back) (Back of card)
1991 #237 1991 Stadium Club Pre-Production
1991 Strat-O-Matic

That is what I need is someone to get me off my butt and look at cards I haven't looked at in years!

Only problem is I don't know where some of them are so it forces me to take them off my list till I find them. Alot of the error cards I didn't put in my books.

I did find this while looking for the black text #54 card.

This is a 8 1/2 X 11 Sample sheets that was made by O-Pee-Chee.

freddie 11-14-2006 05:53 PM

That is a great piece, I've added it. Is it card stock or paper?

To confuse more things, what if someone cut that Juan Gonzalez card out and wanted it on the list as a single as well?

jjt111 11-14-2006 06:47 PM

It is card stock. The cut out wouldn't have a uniformed front and back which all do that I have seen.

I know, someone could easily cut it out and claim it as another OPC card. Do you see the parallel that I am making to the baseball card cutout thread? Here I have listed the source of the product and in other places we have the "cutout" listed.

freddie 11-14-2006 07:10 PM

I think we can clarify these situations by using a proper description and including photos of the "complete" item.

But this isn't meant to be a cut out. There isn't a card that you have on your list that wasn't meant to be cut out with sissors and added to a collection. Most covers of the magazine listed the cards it had in it to be cut out.

The 92 Baseball card you can tell was meant to be cut out. The other has a blank back and is paper thin and in my opinion just a picture.

freddie 11-14-2006 07:20 PM

Those little costaco posters are something that need to be added to the "Other Stuff" list.

I think you have most of the discription and were they where from in most of them. A photo of the magazine would also be nice.

Great piece!!

What about these?

Attachment 160

This is a promo sheet for 2001 Topps Gallery cards. It is 8 1/2 x 11.

Attachment 161

This is a 2002 Rangers calendar as a stadium giveaway.

freddie 11-15-2006 03:19 AM

All candidates for the 'other' list. I think we'll hold off on adding them until the 'other' support is added.

Gonzaleznut 11-15-2006 03:34 PM

I think the 2001 Topps Gallery Promo sheet should be added now.

jjt111 11-15-2006 04:08 PM

A nice addition to a collection! Doe's it sat promotion/sample on it? It isn't just an ad poster for a store front? If it isn't then it should be listed. The calender I would agree is just other. The Gallery sheet would fall there as well if it is just a poster. My opinion.

freddie 11-15-2006 04:19 PM

It looked like an advertisement to me.

Gonzaleznut 11-15-2006 04:32 PM

ok...isn't that what all promo sheets are?

freddie 11-15-2006 04:33 PM

Actually, I would prefer to move Jonas's promo sheet to 'other' as well

jjt111 11-15-2006 09:39 PM

I wouldn't get upset as it had to be a flyer or sent out with basketball card cases for the upcoming season.

A promo page/sheet to me is a preview of a future product not a current product. That to me is an ad page/sheet/poster.

jjt111 11-16-2006 05:09 AM

Any particular year that anyone want photo's added.

Looks like rain in the forcast so I might have some time. Plus I figured out how to scan a bunch and crop the cards from the photo. That is big for someone computer challenged like myself.

Gonzaleznut 11-16-2006 01:54 PM

I would love to see 1996 - 1999 get done. There are so many cool cards from that era.

jjt111 11-18-2006 01:05 AM

I started hitting 96 hard and will continue to do my share!

freddie 11-18-2006 05:40 PM

Great work, I knocked out most of 1991 yesterday.

Gonzaleznut 11-21-2006 01:02 AM

We are at almost 1000 pics.

While loading 96 pic I noticed that I have 6 Stadium Club #9. It seems they made a gold foil version as well as a silver. First two cards on top left.

This might be clearer

Gonzaleznut 11-27-2006 04:26 PM

I think you just made a neat discovery.

I think both versions should be on the list.

By the way, Jonas, you are doing a great job on the pictures!! I love seeing all the scans.

freddie 11-27-2006 04:29 PM

I've added the card.

I'll look through my seven copies to see if any of them happen to be silver.

Gonzaleznut 02-04-2007 04:24 AM

Well...just over 1800 cards and counting have a scan now. I have been working hard to get a lot on there. It is pretty easy for me to scan a whole page, crop down the image, and knock them out. I am really enjoying seeing the pics. I will keep adding as many as possible over the next couple of weeks. By then, I will have gone through my entire collection.

Gonzaleznut 02-17-2007 08:07 PM

Hey Freddie...I was wondering if it was possible to have a new column on the collecting page that tells what percentage of each year's cards have a pic?

Also, is there any way to have it tally total cards in addition to different??

Gonzaleznut 04-06-2007 03:34 PM

There are almost 3,000 cards with images on this site now...amazing!! What a great resource for any Juan collector. I wonder if we should tell Beckett about this site and submit it as one of the best collector sites on the web bar none. What does everybody think??

jzk_ksy 04-07-2007 03:18 PM

I say let Beckett know about the site.I am also very proud of my collection. It all started when I pulled a 93 Elite card out of a pack. It's such a cool card and it was then that I said I want every card of Juan Gonzalez...never in a million years did I think there would be about 5000 different cards...It was just by chance that I found this site but it has so much more then the beckett checklist.I love seeing everyone's collection grow and seeing pictures of cards I know I'll never get...

Kevin

ps...I'm always willing to buy/trade dupes...

Gonzaleznut 04-07-2007 03:35 PM

It is a really great resource isn't it? Freddie has done a great job with it. It is like having your very own "Virtual" collection.

jzk_ksy 04-08-2007 01:00 PM

Yes,I think Freddie has done a great job...He's been great to deal with...I know for me personally it would be so hard to give up my collection...I do want to thank Freddie for the time it took to get the site up and running and for helping a great deal to my collection...

Kevin

Gonzaleznut 06-04-2007 10:42 PM

We now have images for almost two thirds of the items listed on this site. Great job. Keep adding pictures and scans.

Gonzaleznut 06-29-2007 09:16 PM

Hey Freddie...Can you tell me what is going on with the 2003 Fleer pics? There are about 20 cards or so that I KNOW had pictures and today when I was looking, are now gone. Any ideas?

freddie 06-29-2007 09:27 PM

I haven't removed any pictures.

I am not saying that you removed them, but how could they have disappeared??

freddie 06-29-2007 09:42 PM

I am not aware of anyway for them to be removed other than manually by someone or they were never there and you are
