That makes total sense to me because on the front of the package it says limited edition 1/576 and mine is stamped 271.is it possible there are only 576 Gonzos?

Unfortunately with this Tiger products you never know. As I mentioned in the past I also collect Diecast cars and my experienced with Tiger is that not always the number is what they claim to be...

Are you sure that van is 2000? The photo on the top really looks like a one of the 2001 spring training photos that is in the gallery.

As I indicate, nothing can be confirmed with this Item, The box indicate 2000, but that's probably the release year of the VW Van Production, not necessarily the release of the Juan Gonzalez tampo van. They order the diecast plain, then they produce the different tampos and placed them into the different models localy. (timeframes for that procedures are unknow).

a tampo is a decal that are put on most dicast collectibles.i have never seen the van before i could not say its a sticker or not. more than likley it is not.most vw buses bring higher dollar amounts in die cast.the 2006 vw karmann ghia ist edition is real tough. the vw juan van is AWESOME! I NOW WILL HAVE TO FIND ONE!

By the feel of it I do believe that the decals are stickers of some sort.I'm glad everyone likes it.I know I got it using a buy it now price.I think it was 9.99 but may have been 14.99.My friend has a Pudge version...
