its the juan collectors faults..... although, not even our biggest spenders will come close to that - its a $50 to $60 card that 1 or 2 guys will end up paying double that for it

the question you have to ask is why does a juan card #ed to 100 book that hi while others #ed to 100 book for as little as $2???? while i agree $2 may be too low, there isnt a Gonzo card #ed to 100 worth even $20 (maybe $20 if it had a cool patch or auto)

what about the 1998 collectors choice series 2 starquest home run serial numbered to 100? no one has ever seen it! yes it is numbered to 100,but how many set builders are there that this card is in their collection? it is not just Roberto and I that rase the prices on his cards.it is the NITCH collector that has out bid me on a lot of his cards that i need or want.here is a card that has come on ebay 4 times the last 3 years and not one collector on this site has it!!! not one!

http://www.juangone.com/pictures.php?cardid=1933

i was out bid big time on this every time, and all 4 went close to $100 it books at $30 how many of these are printed? i would say 50-100.Nitch collectors kill the prices of his cards also. i would take all the 1997 and 1998 century marks at this price of $20 i could find.

but you are the only one (besides roberto) who would bid on that card...... eventually, these packs will fall into someones hands will open them and have them. you will drive the 1st one up to $150. the 2nd will fetch $100, but after that they will fall substantially. there are not that many set collectors and only 6-7 serious juan collectors. w/ 100 copies, you will eventually have it for way cheaper. just think about the 96 mirror gold and 93 refractor. dont you wish you could go back and tell yourself to wait?

i opened 30 cases + 300 boxes+ of the 98 collectors choice series 2 and got 2 of those! do a google search on those boxes or packs NOTHING! there are none left to open, they were so cheap to open THEY HAVE ALL BEEN OPENED.ALSO THERE ARE 1000's of insert builders out there. with those sets i am one of them.all the collectors choice inserts sets i am building.i am missing 40 of the 94 gold sigs have a complete set of 94-96 silver sigs missing 25 95 gold sigs.i am missing 3 98 series 2 triple's i did not even bother with the 4 star home run because they are not out there. even the 99 ud choice starquest gold are tuff! but not as so the 98 home runs.i think a lot of them were destroyed! for whatever reason. i also gave up on the 96 series 2 gold sigs, they are like finding hens teeth! also i think there are way more mirror golds then they say there are "Stated print run of 30" B.S. why do you think they did not serial number them? but yet pinnacle serial numbered a lot of inserts that year! sounds like a load of crap to me that only 30 were made. look at the 97 mirror golds.how many of those do i have? STATED ODDS 1-299 LOOK AT IT THIS WAY,IF I OPENED UP 6279 PACKS 627 CASES AT 5 BUCKS A PACK WOULD HAVE COST $31,395 AND GOT A MIRROR GOLD IN EVERY 299 PACKS AND ALL WERE JUAN WHAT WOULD THOSE ODDS BE? MORE THAN A GOOGLEPLEX! THERE ARE 150 CARDS IN THE SET! THE ODDS ON PULLING ONE JUAN IS 1-44,850 PACKS AT A COST OF $224,250. SO THE TRUE COST OF MY 20+ 1997 JUAN GONZALEZ MIRROR GOLDS ARE $4,485,000 SO WHY DID PINNACLE GO BROKE????????? THAT IS ONE CARD FROM ONE SET OF ONE PLAYER. NOW TIMES THAT BY 150 PLAYERS SO WHY DID THEY GO BROKE?

The prices on the site are from Aug 2006 Beckett. They haven't been updated since so I don't know if you can rely on them at all. Beckett probably says Juan's card are worth nothing now. Anyone checked lately?
