1997 Finest Refractor 150

I have two of these cards and they are different. See the scans below.
Both have Uncommon Refractor on the back. One looks like the normal finest card, while the second has a pattern over the top but has no protector. I doubt that removing the protector will reveal this pattern. Also the back also has this pattern and there is no protector there. The pattern on the back is more subtle and the scanner doesn't pick it up. Neither card is embossed.

I also have 6 of the refractors of card 212 and they all have a protector and no pattern.

Any ideas?
