why do collectors add cards b-4 they get them

I have been with ebay for over 22 years and have had 131 cards lost in the mail. 103 that I still need. Maybe I should start adding them when I win them from now on before I even get them in the mail.

I didn’t know people do that! What’s the point on doing it?

Everyone has their own style to check if they need the cards but that's definitely a bad strategy.
At some point, a card will get lost in mail and he will think he has it in the pc.

This month 2 juan cards got lost in mail
A 2020 jersey and a 2006 ud diamond collection gold. Bad luck

I actually do add them before I get them sometimes.. usually it’s a base or fairly common card. I do it to prevent me from buying doubles. Also, in all my years, I’ve only had 1 card not show up
