For fans of the obscure
Don't ask me how I noticed this because I really don't look at my cards this closely. I was shuffling through a box of Juans I bought at a show a couple of weeks back and noticed a slight difference between two 1998 Topps cards in the lot. The difference basically has to do with the placement of the gold Topps logo in the bottom left corner of the card. On one card, you can see the toe of the shoe beneath the word "Topps". On the other card, the toe is covered by the Topps emblem, exposing more of the upper part of the shoe. At first I thought that maybe the foil on one card was misplaced slightly, but then I noticed that the gold foil on the bottom of both cards is identical...both have the Juan Gonzalez name placed perfectly over the blue background near the bottom of the card. Was there possibly a slight difference between the retail and factory set cards? Do you guys mind checking yours to see which version you have?
