Seriously...this is crazy...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Over $70 for a card numbered to 50!! The funny thing is that I don't know who is crazier, Roberto for paying that much or the guy bidding against him. That means there are two people willing to pay that much for a card that shouldn't go for more than $25.

The Juan pricing has gotten so out of whack!! It must be supply-demand pushing up prices.

I will tell you this, it certainly is taking a lot of the fun out of collecting Juan. That is why I moved to Pudge. His cards are very reasonably priced and you can sometimes find gems. I bought a Pudge jersey card numered to 10 a month ago for $0.01!!!

I am not trying to put Roberto down. It is his money and he can spend it any way he chooses. I am really simply making a commentary on the nature of Juan collecting as I have done several times in the past on this site.

My guess is the guy who sold it bid on his own card since that was the only thing that other bidder has bid on?????

That's Shill Bidding, I reported to ebay, unfortunately they don't see it like that! See details below!
Dear adelith,

Thank you for writing eBay in regard to shill bidding.

We're always concerned about policy violations and appreciate your
report about p***c. We've thoroughly investigated your report, but we
don't see enough evidence to say that a violation has taken place. We
can certainly reopen the investigation if we receive more information.

Because of privacy concerns, we can't discuss the details of our
investigation. I know this can be frustrating, but I hope it assures you
that your account history will also stay private.

anytime I see a name I am not familiar w/ bidding on cards like that, I stop bidding. If they are only bidding on that seller, there is probably something going on.

I know. When I bid on a card a really want like this one I usually place a high bid to assure it in case i'm not able to bid at the last moment, of course I don't expect a visitor like this one. If you see I only bid on that card once and was the date it was listed.

I know how to get the winning bidder's username, but it only works if you placed a bid in the auction as well.
